Pa Kua Chuan

Palms

In the style of Pa Kua Chuan taught by China Hand Kung Fu Academy, Pa Kua only has two methods in which we use our hands.  The first is the Pa Kua Palm, the second is Sword Fingers.  The latter is used only two times in the advanced material.  Otherwise, your hand will always be in a Pa Kua Palm.  There are NO fists, closed hand formations, in our Pa Kua.

The Pa Kua Palm is formed by opening by spreading the fingers and pull them back.  Now take the palm of the hand and hollow it, as if you were trying to palm a ball, with a slight feeling of squeezing the base of the thumb and pinky together.

While the arm is extended, push the hollowed part of the palm outward.  Be sure not to bend the wrist to much, this will block the flow of qi to the palm.
