"Since I have been doing Tai Chi at the VFW my resting heart rate has dropped to 66 bpm, my blood pressure has dropped from 132/80 to 127/70, I am more limber and flexible, my muscle strength has increased dramatically, which has taken the strain off of my joints, and I always leave class with an uplifting feeling."

"I was diagnosed with two (2) severely herniated discs and several indications of stenosis. I walked by grasping and dragging one leg. Then in October of 2003, I came to the VFW to my first Tai Chi class. In that time, Tai Chi has taught me to keep my legs strong, hamstrings loose and doing form keeps balanced and limber. I consider myself "hardcore" student here!!"

"May I tell a brief story? For years I served as a blood donor, but for the last two years, I have been unable to donate because of my heart rate. Last week I donated. My resting rate went from 120 bpm to 95 bpm. The only difference was Hsing Yi. I have said all of this to illustrate what I need and want from a martial art. 11/06 I am pleased to report that my resting heart rate has now dropped to 88 bpm. Hsing Yi has dramatically lowered my stress level."

"I received the DVD's yestarday. This morning, just now, I previewed the Hsing Yi 5 Element Forms. Excellent! It's by far, the most comprehensive video instruction I've seen. The only thing missing is being there person-to-person for your discerning eye and personal critique."

When I first went to China Hand Kung Fu Academy I was already well aware of the health benefits of Tai Chi; I was however unaware of the internal benefits and personal growth I would experience while practicing and learning Tai Chi. I enjoy the fluid motions of Tai Chi, I enjoy feeling the energies of my fellow students while practicing, and on some occasions I experience a physical bliss while doing forms. I enjoy the peaceful meditations of Qi Gong and have had some intense visions in class. I find that Tai Chi has given me a firmer control of my emotions and reactions and has brought a measure of peace and stability to my life.

My fellow students are a very varied group, we all have different philosophies and divergent goals, but somehow we all get along. And more than getting along we share and teach each other. Everyone brings his own special gifts to the school.
In addition to all of that we have a lot of FUN! We have shared so many adventures including World Tai Chi day in NYC, our wonderful Tai Chi Family Picnic, and many parties. It seems we can pretty much celebrate almost anything.

Most of this is due to an amazing man and teacher Dominic Ruggeri. I liken taking instruction from Shifu to learning chopsticks from a concert pianist. He has endless patience and an amazing ability to use words and demonstration to answer a question. He encourages each of us to excel and improve and he is always there to listen or offer advice.

I am eternally grateful for all my experiences here and all the friendships I have found here. I am enjoying this journey.

Dear Dominick, just about 1 year ago, I walked through the doors of China Hand really not knowing what to expect. You have surpassed my expectations.

I feel I have accomplished so very much on all levels. On a physical note I am stronger, leaner and my shoulder is on the mend! On a deeper note I am more grounded, connected and feel more alive then I've ever felt!

Besides teaching the basic moves your patience, warmth and most importantly our belief in myself has helped me to achieve all these goals.

May God bless you for using your gift as teacher/mentor to help people be the best they could be....
