Beautification Day

Nichole's Serenity Garden

u.163541.2015-05-03 13.19.43.jpg

May 2, 2015

Click here to see the magic happening...

The students of China Hand Kung Fu Academy once again came together in force to support the Academy. They cleared out and planted flowers, mulch, a table & chairs, and a tribute plaque for the passing of Shifu's daughter Nichole on April 17, 2015.

It was suggested we name this mediation area Nichole's Serenity Garden. It will be a place for all to garther, mediate, post, practice, rest, have a bite, or just enjoy the awesome weather and beauty of the flowers and each other.

Thanks everyone...

Shifu

u.9414.untitled.pngYear of the Goat 2015!

Occupying the 8th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Goat (or Sheep) symbolizes such character traits as creativity, intelligence, dependability, and calmness. Comfortable being alone to ponder the workings of their inner minds, Goats enjoy being part of a group, but prefer the sidelines rather than the center. Their nurturing personality makes Goats excellent care-givers. They’re quite and reserved because they spend much time absorbed in their thoughts.

Home and alone is where Goats feel most comfortable. There they can express themselves artistically, whether it’s by painting, cooking or participating in whatever artistic endeavors they enjoy. Goats prefer the couch because there they can relax and explore their minds. They don’t need elaborate furnishings; only items reflecting their desire for art.

When traveling or seeking entertainment, Goats prefer groups or venues that hold many people. Goats spend money on fashions that give them a first class appearance. Although Goats enjoy spending money on the finer things in life, they are not snobbish.

TRIP TO CHINATOWN
Sunday, Feb 22, 2015
Leaving 10:30 am - Returning 6:00 pm

Hi, everybody.

We are contemplating a trip into Chinatown in New York to celebrate Chinese New Year's on Sunday, 02/22/2015, to have lunch, watch the parade, and enjoy the numerous street festivities, Kung Fu demonstrations, and cultural dances.

The parade starts in Little Italy at 1 PM and ends in Chinatown.  We will probably go to lunch first and then check out all the happenings.

If we have enough people, we may rent the shuttle bus again (for 20 people, it would be $50 per person just for the bus, and then lunch money).  In addition, we have the option of cancelling the bus due to inclement weather.

If we don't have that many people, we will probably carpool into the City and participants in each car would share gas, tolls, bridge, and parking.  We are also looking into a limousine service.

We will probably meet at the school around 10:30 a.m. and leave Chinatown around 4:30 PM.

Please let me (Linda) know at linda1005@comcast.net ASAP if you would like to join us.   You may also call the school too at 732-920-0605 for information and details.

We will continue to update this page as we get more details.

Thanks
Master Kuile Hu (Linda)
Social Director
