RankingChina Hand Kung Fu Academy has a ranking system used to guide, promote, certify, and issue to all Academy and Associate Members of the Academy. This system is meant to be a general guideline. When it comes to ranking our view is "Quality over Quantity" PrefaceThis preface is meant to explain to our philosophy on the subject of Ranking & Teaching Certification. Ranking and Teaching Certifications are offered at the academy. The difference between the two is simple, a Teaching Certification requires the student to assistant teach under a qualified instructor of the academy and will be instructed and critiqued in the art of teaching. After attaining the necessary skills he/she then will be issued an endorsement by China Hand Kung Fu Academy as a Certified Teacher. A Black Sash Rank is certifying your skills to perform only. However, it is not certifying your teaching abilities as required by this Academy. This policy is taken to ensure we only certify those meeting the highest-level criteria to be an instructor representing China Hand Kung Fu Academy and its’ family. The following guidelines are used in the Ranking of China Hand Kung Fu Academy Students in Hsing Yi Chuan. It is meant to be a map to guide the student through the different levels of training and develop well-balanced Kung Fu skill. Part of the path we set you on is diversity through cross training in complimentary systems. Our ranking system also relies on the following:
There are 3 levels of learning at the academy to which these guidelines are applied: 1. Learning gross movement and order of form movements
2. Refinement of movement, techniques, understanding of body mechanics, timing, and application.
3. Refinement of the “Spirit” which includes eye and head movement, feeling, and energy or “Qi.”
4. Students will be expected to retain all previously learned material and improve on that material as they progress to more advanced forms and concepts. The BASICS hold the key to progression. All of which takes a lifetime to perfect. However, it can be done and you can do it! These guidelines are meant to provide GOALS for students and benchmarks to achieve. Use them for that. These are the current guidelines as of 11/09/2007 02:41:32 PM If you have questions, please see Sifu. DefinitionsGrandmaster: Someone who has produced a student who is a Master.
